Dr. Iris Tu received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree at the University of Toronto before attending the University of Waterloo where she completed her Doctor of Optometry degree with Dean’s Honours.
Having been inspired by the optometrists she had seen at a young age, Dr. Iris is passionate about educating the public about eye health and has an interest in myopia (near-sightness) management in children. During her time in optometry school, she was an active
member of the Canadian Association of Optometry Students (CAOS), raising awareness for preventable eye conditions and the importance of eye exams in the local community. During her optometry training, she obtained additional experience in diagnosis and management
of ocular diseases and specialty contact lenses through her externships in rural Ontario and Hamilton.
Dr. Iris is a member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO) and the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO), and can provide care in English and Mandarin. In her spare time, Dr. Iris enjoys trying new recipes, knitting/crochet, and hiking with friends.
She looks forward to providing full-scope eye care to patients of all ages in Stoney Creek and the surrounding community.
